Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells – Live in Concert will be staged as part of a world tour to mark the 50th anniversary of the release of the iconic piece at 8.00 p.m. on the 25th of February, in Főnix Aréna.
Mike Oldfield’s masterpiece is performed by a team of nine great musicians. The material for the two-part concert was compiled by the Artist, who this time performs the duties of music director, arranger and producer. Mike Oldfield will not personally participate in the world tour, the guitarist chosen by him will be in his band. But in the concert and in this wonderful music, it is not the guitarist personally the determining factor. He is only one of the nine musicians. The point is the epoch-making work itself, which started and “made” the Artist great. He laid the foundations of a new genre, but at the same time preserved his completely unique sound. The conductor of the performance is Oldfield’s close work and creative partner, the renowned Robin Smith, already known from several other productions.
The evening will be opened by the concert of Péter Müller Sziámi AndFriends as a guest.
