Games Studies Conference

University of Debrecen Egyetem tér 1., Debrecen

Games and Language is a Hungarian-English bilingual and hybrid event to be held on 20-21 October 2023 at the University of Debrecen. The conference is intended to provide room for productive conversation in the Hungarian, regional and international scholarly community working with both table-top and video games of all genres within the field of humanities and social sciences, with a special focus on the language of games, language in games and the intersections between language and game studies. Exhibition of contemporary painters Anikó Éberling and Zsuzsa Szász

The exhibition of contemporary painters Anikó Éberling and Zsuzsa Szász is open free of charge at the Kölcsey Centre until the 20th of October 2023. The exhibition is open daily from 10. a.m. to 6 p.m. during the opening hours of the Kölcsey Centre, and until 7 p.m. during evening events. Deputy Mayor of Debrecen István Puskás will give a welcome speech at the opening of the exhibition on the 27th of September at 6 pm. Quentin Tarantino Films in English in Apolló Cinema

There will be English-language Quentin Tarantino movies in the Apolló Cinema in Debrecen from the 2nd of October until the 20th of November. His iconic scenes and dialogues move millions of fans around the world and become reference points in the everyday lives of film fanatics. You can watch Quentin Tarantino’s feature films with English dubs at the Apollo Cinema this fall every Monday from the 2nd of October until the 20th of November. Sehenswert Film Festival

This year marks the 12th edition of the Eyes Wide Shut || Sehenswert Film Festival, where you can see the latest and most exciting films from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. There is something for everyone, as love, culture, belonging, family troubles, human relationships, the art world, and many other pressing issues are explored in a dramatic and profound way, or in a light and humorous way.
