The Debrecen Spring Festival 2024 will take place between 4 - 19 April 2024. The Festival, often called the cultural season opener of the city, awaits its audience again. The goal of the long-standing series of events  is to give a prominent role to the artistic content created here in connection with the Debrecen City Day, presenting cultural values in a wider and wider range. Both young and old are welcome to the Debrecen All-Art Festival. The varied programmes will provide the perfect entertainment for all ages for several days. Concerts and Exhibitions at Deszka Festival in Debrecen

Debrecen will host one of the biggest theatre events in Hungary this year, the XV Deszka Festival between the 9th and the 18th of May. Apart from theatre events, the festival awaits visitors with  many other interesting and entertaining programmes. Jewish Cultural Days and the 3rd Jewish Street Festival

The next stop of the ALL IN Debrecen - International Cultural Days series will be the Debrecen Jewish Cultural Days and Street Festival between the 9th and 12th of May.  Margit Bangó, Péter Gerendás and the Debrecen Dixieland Jazz Band, among others, will perform at the four-day meeting organised around the synagogue of Pásti Street in Debrecen. Other participants arrive as well such as film aesthete András Réz, the film aesthete, the unforgettable Zoltán Tordai, and for the children, the Csicsogó Production and the Nature Storage. La Dolce Vita Mediterranean Weekend at Debrecen Zoo

Continuing and expanding the tradition started last year, La Dolce Vita Mediterranean Weekend will be held again on the 11th and the 12th of May, bringing the Mediterranean experience to the trees of the Great Forest with the park’s rich citrus and ivy collection, thematic programmes and authentic performers. On both days visitors can admire and with a quiz can learn about the outstanding citrus and ivy collection of the Zoo. The culture of Italy will be brought to life with a bumper-car race, Italian coffee, twisted ice cream, lemonade and freshly baked pizza at the gastro stalls, furthermore  retro posters, old Italian cars, Vespa bikes, and a Bambino cave for the little ones awaiting visitors. On Saturday the jurying and announcement of the results of the cake and pastry competition will take place. Israeli Play at Csokonai Theatre with English Subtitles

About the play that was inflated into a musical farce by director Árpád Árkosi: Hanoch Levin (1943-1999), a prominent Israeli dramatic writer, excelled in satirical cabaret, exposing the ineptitude of common people in life's twists and turns. His famous play, Jákobi and Lájdentál, incorporated trivialities into the friendship of two title characters, including envy, jealousy, desire for something different, and a bizarre love triangle. Debrecen Drive 2024

Debrecen Drive is the largest automotive event in the region, where participants not only get to touch the vehicles, but also enjoy serious demonstrations and other activities. There are usually 150-200 show cars from nearly 30 brands, many of which are not even in the showrooms. Visitors are usually also able to see premium classics and ‘top of the range’ sports cars, as well as power and work machines; unique trucks; logistics robots; and military vehicles. The organizers will also be offering a colorful program of complementary activities, including free practice sessions, a professional conference and round table discussion, a celebrity race and a MiniDrive on the Children’s Day. Night of Museums 2024

During the Night of Museums - museums, galleries, and cultural institutions open their doors to the public for extended hours, often in the evening and late night. These events aim to provide a unique and engaging experience for visitors by offering special exhibitions, guided tours, interactive activities, and performances. Campus Festival 2024

The Campus Festival is one of the country’s biggest popular music festivals. The open-air music festival takes place in July and features more than 200 concerts and DJ performances in 19 venues, as well as a wide range of other events every year. In addition to Hungarian bands, international artists such as Dutch DJ Tiesto, Norwegian singer Aurora, Swedish pop diva Zara Larsson and British duo Chase & Status have also performed at the event. It is going to be the 16th Campus Festival. Event ended with a total of 118,000 visitors over the course of four days, making it the largest festival in Eastern Hungary. The Campus Festival has been a safe, family-friendly, cultured festival for several years, touching all age groups.In addition to the entertainment, the University Square, dreamed up by the University of Debrecen, has played an important role at the festival for years, one of the most visited daytime program locations at the festival every year. Wine and Jazz Festival 2024

Debrecen Flower Carnival 2024

The 20th August is the national and state holiday of Hungary and the anniversary of the consecration of Stephen I of Hungary. In Debrecen, it is also the day of the Flower Carnival. It is a real attraction, drawing in visitors from across the country and internationally ever since it was first organised in 1966. With a 56-year tradition, the carnival is now far more than just a parade of spectacular floral compositions and international artistic ensembles, – it is a week-long colourful programme of events where visitors can find the entertainment that appeals to them most. More than 1,500 Hungarian and foreign carnival parade participants and about half a million live flowers arrive at the Debrecen Flower Carnival, taking place between the 14th and 20th of August every year.
