On-duty kindergartens and nurseries will be available during the summer break; Debrecen families with small children can plan their summer.

The annual opening hours of kindergartens and nurseries are decided at the beginning of the year so parents, kindergarten teachers and nursery carers can plan their holidays.

In the case of kindergartens, the Culture and Education Committee of the General Assembly makes the decision, and in the case of nurseries, the Social and Health Committee does.

Both bodies will meet next week, and the proposal, which has been adopted unchanged in recent years, is now available, and it is expected to be the same this year as well.

In the case of kindergartens, it is recommended that the summer break last for six weeks and that the institutions be closed from the 8th of July to the 16th of August.

During this period, on-duty services will be provided by the following institutions:

Gönczy Pál Streeti Kindergarten (4225 Debrecen, Gönczy Pál Street 1-3.)

Ispotály Utcai Kindergarten (4025 Debrecen, Ispotály Street 12.)

Liget Óvoda Babits Mihály Street location (4032 Debrecen, Babits Mihály Street 2.)

Margit Téri Kindergarten (4031 Debrecen, Margit tér 20.)

Sípos Utcai Kindergarten (4034 Debrecen, Sípos Street 6.)

Táncsics Mihály Streeti Kindergarten (4028 Debrecen, Táncsics Mihály Street 7-15)

If the committee accepts the proposal, the kindergartens in Debrecen will also be closed during the national winter break, and then the Levendula Kindergarten (Varga Street 23.) will be on duty.

Last year, the parents of 1,000 kindergarten children requested on-call care during the summer holidays, and only 168 of them spent all six weeks in on-call care. There were weeks when more than six hundred children were cared for, but there were also weeks when only 345 were cared for. The committee will also decide on the kindergarten enrollment date, which, according to the proposal, will be April 24-25 this year.

According to the proposal, nurseries will be closed for four weeks, from the 8th of July to the 3rd of August. The on-call service is provided by the Karácsony György Utcai Member Institution.

Last summer, during the four-week break, a total of 105 nurseries were requested for on-duty care. According to the legislation, the summer closure could be five weeks, but in Debrecen, they used to have a shorter four-week break in Debrecen nurseries.

Both committees will decide on Wednesday next week.
