“From Monday, the 6th of January, the use of masks covering the nose and mouth will be mandatory in all patient care and diagnostic units of the University of Debrecen Clinical Centre’s Nagyerdei, Kenézy Gyula and Gróf Tisza István Campuses,”  the University of Debrecen informed in a press release.

According to the regulation, all healthcare and healthcare workers, medical students, patients and visitors are required to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth at all times.

Patients receiving care in healthcare institutions in the ward where they are accommodated are exempt from the regulation, and minors under the age of six and persons with intellectual or psychosocial disabilities are not required to wear a mask. In addition, in the interest of barrier-free communication, hearing-impaired patients and persons communicating with them or assisting them in their communication are exempt from the obligation to wear a mask for the duration of the anamnesis.

The regulation is valid until revoked. The management of the University of Debrecen and the Clinical Center asks for the cooperation of patients and their relatives, and thanks them for their understanding and patience.
