The all-arts gala, with more than 100 performers, will focus on national values, traditions, pride and Hungarikums. The concert is based on folk music, opera and Hungarian songs taking the audience on an evening-long journey through the history of more than a thousand years of Hungarian culture.
The evening will feature the most popular performers and stars of four genres. The programme will encompass the essence of the four artistic sectors.
According to the official website of the Hungarikums: “Hungarikum is a collective term indicating a value worthy of distinction and highlighting within a unified system of qualification, classification, and registry and which represents the high performance of Hungarian people thanks to its typically Hungarian attribute, uniqueness, speciality and quality.”
Simply put, these are foods, drinks, even animals, clothes and buildings that stand out in Hungarian culture because of their value, outstanding history, quality, recognition and uniqueness. They are truly 100% Hungarian products. Pálinka, Tokaj wine, Dobos-torta, or Törley sparkling wine are the most popular ones.
