Sensirion Hungary Kft. received a special recognition.

The company’s Nubo Sphere platform received a certificate of excellence for its world-class achievements in delivering outstanding social benefits at the XXXI Hungarian Innovation Grand Prix ceremony held in the Hungarian Parliament.

The powerful and easy-to-use solution enables continuous monitoring of critical infrastructure in the oil and gas industry, preventing methane leaks in a timely manner. “Methane is responsible for 30 percent of global warming. Thanks to Sensirion’s platform, early detection and timely corrective action is possible,” the company said in a statement.

The certificate for innovative development was presented by Gábor Szabó, president of the Hungarian Innovation Association, and János Pakucs, honorary president of the association, to László Ábrahám, managing director of Sensirion Hungary Kft.

The expert thanked the association for its recognition and, at the same time, called attention to the importance of experiential education in STEM subjects and raising the quality of science education. Adequate training of young people and specialists is vital, for example, for the renewal of industry and the preservation of its capacity for innovation.

The 2022 Hungarian Innovation Grand Prize and six other innovation prizes were awarded at the ceremony.

A jury of scientists and renowned economists, headed by the Minister of Culture and Innovation János Csák, selected the outstanding innovation achievements primarily based on economic indicators – the additional output and revenue generated – and social utility.
