Carl Orff’s popular work Carmina Burana will be performed at the Főnix Arena, accompanied by spectacular show elements.

“Secular songs for solo singers and choirs, with instrumental accompaniment and magical images” – this is how Carl Orff envisioned his scenic cantata, one of the most famous and popular works in music history.

Carmina Burana will now be performed in Debrecen at the Főnix Arena on Tuesday, 13th June, at 7 p.m. The performance remains true to the spirit of the great composer.

The Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra and Kodály Choir will perform a unique contemporary movement theatre spectacle. The life-affirming message of Carmina Burana permeates the dramatic storytelling, and grotesque humour, comic elements and lyrical etudes colour the mesmerising choreography of Csanád Gergely Kovács, who choreographs the circus numbers. The overall picture is completed by background projections, which make the viewer feel as if they have bought a ticket to a 3D cinema.
