The details were presented at a press conference held on the 10th of October, 2023, by the municipality’s representative, Aurélia Ibolya Orosz.
Aurélia Orosz Ibolya said that as of today, the reconstruction works of the service road and parking lots located at number 3 István király Square to the bend of Vincellér Street have begun. The representative added that the asphalt works are being carried out based on demand from residents, as the pavement in this section is already outdated; once the works are completed, residents will be able to use a completely renewed service road.
Regarding the work timetable, she said that the contractor would start by levelling the gullies, then milling, then the levelling of the utility fittings and finally, the asphalting works. The work is expected to take three weeks.
The municipal representative added that this section of the roadway will be renewed over a length of almost 280 m, entirely financed by the municipality under the Debrecen 2030 programme, for HUF 55 million.
Ibolya Aurélia Orosz also said that during the works, she asks for patience from the residents and the people who drive here so that they do not drive out of habit but according to the current traffic regime.
She concluded that the completely renewed section of the road would provide residents a safer and more comfortable transport option.
