Large-scale road repair work began on the 18th of September, 2023, on Kartács Street in Debrecen. The details were presented at a press conference by Tamás Majer, the municipal representative of the area, on the 21st of September, 2023.
Large-scale road repair works are also being carried out on Kartács Street between Verseny Street and Patay István Street, along a length of about 130 metres, as part of the Debrecen 2030 programme. The project is being carried out in response to a public request to improve the quality of the road and to improve the drainage of rainwater from the road. Tamás Majer expressed his satisfaction that the city had responded as quickly as possible to the request for this section of Kartács Street, which was made at a public forum earlier this year. He also pointed out that Kartács Street had been paved in recent years and expressed the hope that it would be fully paved in a few years.
On the section of Kartács Street between Verseny Street and Patay István Street, after the paving and drainage of rainwater, an asphalt binding and wearing course will be laid. The gross value of the investment is HUF 17 million. Subject to weather conditions, the works are expected to be completed by 6th October 2023.

During the works, traffic will be controlled by traffic lights, and the road will be completely closed during the laying of the new asphalt-wearing course. The Mayor’s Office asks all road users to follow the temporary traffic regime during the construction work and to respect the signs.
