Due to the large-scale road repair works, temporary traffic restrictions are expected in the following locations in Debrecen:

Asphalting works will continue in connection with the large-scale road repair works on Sumen Street between Haláp Street and Homokkerti overpass.

On Tuesday, the 5th of September 2023, the inner lanes of Sumen Street will be paved, with the following temporary traffic regulations between 08.30 a.m. and 3.00 p.m:

  • straight and left turns from Tímár Street will be prohibited
  • from the direction of Haláp Street, straight and left turns will be prohibited;
  • from the direction of Klaipeda Street, left turns from Sumen Street to Haláp Street will be prohibited;
  • from the direction of the Homokkerti overpass, right turns will be permitted.

On Kemény Zsigmond Street, works will be carried out in the section in front of the kindergarten and the garage row from 4th September 2023.


In the Józsa district, the reconstruction of Harmat Street between Highway 35 and Sillye Gábor Street will start on Wednesday, the 6th of September 2023, after the peak traffic period, after 8.00 am.


Major road resurfacing will also start on Szabó Lőrinc Street on the 6th of September 2023. The works will start with the demolition of the pavement and asphalt milling on the Babits Mihály Street side of the roundabout.


Large-scale road repairs are underway at the junction of Kishegyesi Road and Derék Street between Szotyori Street and Kishegyesi Road 51.


Large-scale road repairs are underway on the section of Nagyerdei körút between Martinovics Street and Hadházi Road.


On the section of Sárga dűlő between Hajdúszováti Road and Szeméttelepi Road, a full width road closure is in place until the 15 September 2023. The designated diversion route for pedestrians is Vértesi Road – access road to the Szeméttelep. Buses to Szepes will also use the detour route.


The parking lot of the Boldogfalva Kindergarten on Szív Street will be sorted out.

Drivers in these locations are asked to drive with caution according to the traffic signs posted.
