The Tax Department of the Mayor’s Office of the City of Debrecen has begun delivering balance notifications to assist with fulfilling local tax payment obligations for the first half of 2025.
Notifications are sent by post to individuals who have not opted for electronic communication by the balance notification date. Individuals registered for electronic communication and sole proprietors will receive the letter in their Client Gateway storage (Ügyfélkapu), while companies will receive it in their Company Gateway (Cégkapu).
The first half-year payment obligations can be paid without late fees until the 17th of March 2025. Checks are only attached to notifications delivered by post. The cash transfer order required to fulfill the first half-year tax obligation was attached to the decisions sent about the 2025 tax rate changes, so individuals who only have a building tax obligation for 2025 will not receive a new check.
The Tax Department emphasizes that everyone can settle their tax obligation through a transaction classified as a bank card purchase on the E-Government Portal using the EFER system.
