According to MÁV’s announcement, tickets can be conveniently purchased at their ticket vending machines, online on Elvira, and in the MÁV app, where intercity and local tickets can now be purchased for Volánbus services.
The railway company also recommends and requests seat redemption on non-booked services in order to ensure that seats are available on the more frequented end-of-year services.
MÁV Group’s rail passenger transport company, MÁV-START will be operate with more coaches, subject to availability and advance purchase of tickets, on routes:
- Budapest-Debrecen-Nyíregyháza -Nyírség InterCity train,
- Budapest-Miskolc-Nyíregyháza-Debrecen-Szolnok-Budapest – Tokaj InterCity train,
- Budapest-Nagykanizsa – Tópart InterCity train,
- Budapest-Keszthely – Balaton InterCity train,
- Budapest-Békéscsaba – Békés InterCity train,
- Budapest-Cegléd-Szeged – Napfény InterCity train,
- and Budapest-Pécs – Mecsek InterCity train.
