Three prizes were awarded by the Public Procurement Authority, two of which came to Debrecen.
DKV (Debrecen Transport Ltd.) has been awarded the 2023 Public Procurement Challenge Prize in the category of Procurement of Goods with its tender for the procurement of electric buses, the latest Official Journal published.
In the construction category, the Municipality of the City of Debrecen won the award for its tender entitled Sustainability and Innovation in the Public Procurement Procedure for the Renovation of the Csokonai National Theatre in Debrecen.
As is known, the Municipality of Debrecen has completely renovated the historic building of the Csokonai Theatre in a net investment of HUF 9 billion 702 million. The state provided funding for the development in two phases, as part of the Modern Cities Programme and the Debrecen 2030 Programme.
DKV acquired 12 electric buses in the Green Bus Program with HUF 800 million in state support. CEO Szabolcs Tóth recently told Debrecen Television’s Evening Close-up program that the 12 electric buses were introduced cautiously in the beginning, but now each vehicle runs more than 200 kilometres on a daily basis.
The Public Procurement Excellence Award was established in 2018 by the Public Procurement Authority in recognition of professional excellence in public procurement, and is awarded once a year through a public competition.
The purpose of the award is to encourage the participants of public procurement procedures to conduct and participate in a regular, expedient, effective and efficient procedure with a high professional standard, for the sake of transparent management of public funds and public assets.
In addition to the Municipality of Debrecen and DKV, the Directorate General for Public Procurement and Supply also won a prize in the 2023 tender with its tender for the supply of paper products, stationery and office supplies.
