The construction of the Reformed crèche on Nádsíp Street in Nagysándor settlement has begun, the Reformed Church District of Tiszántúli announced.

Last summer, the Debrecen General Assembly decided to give the land for the nursery construction free of charge to the Reformed Missionary Congregation of Debrecen-Nagysándor-telep, which won funding for the project.

The construction of the nursery will cost nearly HUF 840 million, of which HUF 662.5 million will be provided by the European Union and the rest by the Hungarian state.

As a result of the development, a 610 square metre, energy-efficient, barrier-free crèche building will be built, equipped with a warming kitchen, modern equipment, furniture and play equipment, a playground, a playground, landscaped area, parking spaces and utility connections.

The nursery will have 56 places in four classrooms. The development will also create seven new jobs.

In addition, the Greek Catholic congregation will also build a crèche in Debrecen with funding from a grant. They are building a 96-place crèche in Tócóvölgy.

The Municipality of Debrecen has twelve member institutions providing crèche care with 1164 places, which are constantly being used. Overall, they are able to meet the needs, but there are no crèches in some parts of the city. In Józsa, one of the nurseries is already under construction, and the construction of a nursery in Postakert is also underway.
