During this year’s Night of Museums, visitors can explore one of Debrecen’s most famous buildings and observe the stars from above. There will also be a CSAK Design Fair and craft activities.
On Saturday, 24th June, the Night of Museums in the Reformed Great Church of Debrecen will feature a wide range of colourful events.
Programme of the Reformed Church of Debrecen on the Night of Museums:
From 6 p.m. to midnight – Interactive exploration of the rooms of the Reformed Great Church
Unusual guided tours on the ground floor of the church – in addition to the interactive walk, visitors will get answers to the question of what made Péter Méliusz Juhász, Kossuth, Csokonai or Petőfi “trendy” in their own time. In our permanent and temporary exhibition on the 2nd floor, you can win surprises by filling in a quiz. The guided tours start at 6, 8 and 10 p.m. The opening bell will be played.
9:00 p.m.- Tune in to the stars
On the 2nd floor of the János Kálvin Gallery, you can see the temporary exhibition “STARS_PICTURES”. Almost 40 of the best astrophotographs of 2022 are on display.
The sound of guitar and harp will set the mood for an intimate evening exploring the photographs on display. Gergő Csorba and Anita Oláh will play the instruments from 9:00 p.m.
From 8 p.m to 11 p.m. – The Vega Astronomical Association‘s Hajdúsági Terrain Club lets visitors observe the evening sky from the panoramic walkway between the two towers.
11:30 p.m. – Film scores on the organ
Gergő Csorba, organist, will perform a special concert at the Night of the Museums in the Great Church. The classicist organ will interpret modern film music in an exciting way. The concert will be enhanced by a colourful light show.

11 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Character Only Design Fair next to the Glass Pyramid

From 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., Live music on the terrace of “Karakter 1517” Bookshop and Café
Tickets can be purchased at Karakter 1517 Bookshop and Café, at the ticket office of the Great Church and online on this page.
Visitors can also visit the Déri Museum, the Museum of the Reformed College of Debrecen and the Modem during the Night of Museums with the purchased wristbands.
