Déri Museum has good news, as contrary to original plans, visitors can still see El Greco’s world-famous painting, “Annunciation this week.
On the last day, the work of art will be given a fitting farewell, as visitors will also be able to listen to a lecture on the painting by the Art Historian of the Museum of Fine Arts, Nóra Vörös.
Domenikos Theotokopulos, known to most as El Greco, painted Greetings of Angels on several occasions. The painting in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts was painted around 1600.
The El Greco painting can be seen in the Munkácsy Hall next to the Golgotha Preview.
Both paintings come from the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, as the Déri Museum has loaned the original Golgotha for the exhibition “Munkácsy – The Story of a World Success”, running until the 30th of March.
