On the 24th of May 2023, tree planting took place in the yard of the Debrecen Primary Care and Health Development Institute’s headquarters in Pósa Street.  In attendance to assist with planting were Diána Széles, Deputy Mayor of Debrecen, and László Juhász, Managing Director of Adix-Trade Kft.

There are a large number of successful Debrecen companies with decades of history that would like to share the results of their success with the city’s community. This was also the idea behind Adix-Trade Ltd., whose headquarters are in the district where the donated trees were planted.

The choice of location was motivated by the fact that there are two institutions in this part of the city that need to plant trees: the Immánuel home and school, which provides complex services for people with multiple disabilities run by the Reformed Church, and the other is the headquarters of the Debrecen Institute for Primary Care and Health Promotion (Daefi).

Of the 15 trees donated by the company, three ornamental cherry trees were placed in front of the Immánuel home, in the green lane by the roadside, while eight silver linden and four ornamental cherry trees were placed in the garden of Daefi. Of the latter 12 trees, four were planted by the event participants. According to Diána Széles, the plants were well placed in the latter location because they will complement the local tree line and also because they will fit in with the ongoing landscaping of the garden. Most importantly, of course, these trees will add to the “10,000 trees in Debrecen!” programme in Debrecen in the last year. Diána Széles believes it is very important that Debrecen develops a strong entrepreneurial community that enriches the city’s values in the spirit of social responsibility, in the spirit of the idea of a caring city.

László Juhász, managing director of Adix-Trade Kft., recalled that they have been present in the industrial and commercial life of Debrecen for thirty years. On their anniversary, they wanted to share their joy with others. They identify with the idea that everyone should do something for the community.

This was demonstrated to the company’s community by earning the Family Friendly Workplace award two years ago. Planting a few trees may not seem like a big step for the city’s community, but László Juhász believes that if many people contribute to making the city’s environment more aesthetically pleasing, it will result in a nice, clean Debrecen. He hopes this donation will set an example for other companies and attract more people to join in making Debrecen greener.
