The handover of the donation took place on the 19th of March 2024 at a press conference attended by  Deputy Mayor of Debrecen and Co-chairman of the Debrecen Charity Board Diána Széles, President of the Debrecen Charity Board András Törő and Managing Director of Nádudvari Élelmiszer Kft. Ádám Nagy.

Diána Széles thanked Nádudvari Élelmiszer Kft. for thinking of the Charity Board and through them supporting needy families with a larger donation. This is not the first time the company has been a major donor, having already donated 5,000 saplings for the tree planting programme in the Great Forest. The Debrecen Charity Board and the support of people in need were also mentioned in connection with the donation. The deputy mayor said that the head of the company, Ádám Nagy, was born in the city and graduated from school here, so he has strong ties to Debrecen. Diána Széles stressed that the Charity Board can only help if there are generous donors and companies who donate alongside the municipality and the Board passes on these donations. Donating is not just a one-off help, but also an opportunity to build relationships and move those in need in a direction where they can actively do what they can to improve their lot.

The Debrecen Charity Board has nearly thirty member organisations, whose activities cover practically the whole city and all those in need of help, from the state care system to large families and pensioners. The staff of these member organisations are working to ensure that this donation reaches its intended beneficiaries as quickly as possible,” she stressed. Anyone who feels in need of help should contact the member organisations of the Debrecen Charity Body, because the city, together with the NGOs working in this field, would like Debrecen to have a strong, exemplary social network. “In Debrecen, we believe in the power of cooperation, and it is this cooperation that helps us to help the people of Debrecen,” the deputy mayor pointed out.

Managing Director of Nádudvari Élelmiszer Kft. Ádám Nagy thanked the Debrecen Charity Board for their work in order to deliver their donations to families in need. As he said, Nádudvari Élelmiszer Kft. has now become strong enough to be not only an economic operator, but to do something for the community. They believe it is important to look for links with local communities and help them. This is demonstrated by the 1,500 cartons of 900 gram yoghurt from Nádudvar and 1,500 pieces of 110 gram liver paté from Nádudvar that have been donated to the people in need through the Charity Board. According to Ádám Nagy, this is an important step in the life of the company and they want to make it a regular feature.

President of the Debrecen Charity Board András Törő thanked Nádudvari Élelmiszer Kft. for contributing to the preparation for the holiday with such a special donation before Easter. Staff from the member organisations of the Charity Board have already started preparing Easter food parcels for the needy, which will be delivered in several phases. “Anyone else who would like to contribute to these donation packages, please feel free to contact us and help us in our work, as we will be able to distribute the donations to the people in need in the city,” he stressed.
