During the meeting on Tuesday, it was said that the tax package for the following year will mainly help young people and families. At the event, the Debrecen service office donated ten laptops to Bethlen Gábor Technical School of Economics students.
PwC Hungary opened its Debrecen office a year ago. At the conference, they discussed next year’s tax changes. The Deputy President of the National Tax Authority (abbreviated in Hungarian as NAV) was also present and spoke about their primary goal being to help businesses. This is why, for example, the eVAT web interface was created.
“Currently, our eVAT system is used by 47 thousand users. We have already identified nearly 100 thousand taxpayers behind the 47 thousand users. Incidentally, the queries are very popular, even if someone does not file their tax return using this method,” Deputy President of the Tax and Customs Directorate of the National Tax Authority, Csilla Tamásné Czinege, explained.
The event also discussed the details of the new tax package. According to Gábor Farkas, Head of Tax and Legal at PwC Hungary, the legislation has benefited primarily families and young people.
“For example, starting next year, 50% of the SZÉP card balance will be available for house renovations, and the amount of benefits that can be obtained at a reduced rate will rise by HUF 120,000. In addition, speaking of apartments, there is further good news that the 5 percent preferential tax rate for the sale of new apartments will remain in effect,” Gábor Farkas said.
On the occasion, the auditing and tax consulting company donated ten laptops to the Bethlen Gábor Technical School of Economics.
The Debrecen secondary school is fourth in the national technical school ranking.
“Accountants, auditors and those involved in finance and accounting typically work with software on computers, so first-class computers must be available to them, not only at work but also in educational institutions. I think the best place for these ten laptops will be at the Bethlen Gábor Technical School,” Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa emphasised.
The company made its donation to create a tradition. Last year, it provided computers to the University of Debrecen’s training primary school.
