In mid-November, it was announced that PwC, one of the world’s leading audit, tax and business advisory firms, would open an office in Debrecen. Since then, the company has since organised several economic programmes.
On the 9th of April, however, they are preparing a forum where representatives of international companies from the region, such as BMW and LEGO, and nationally-owned companies, such as Xanga and KITE, will discuss the development potential of the region, along with national stakeholders.
The panel discussions aim to enhance the professional relationship between economic operators by addressing current issues, including the use of artificial intelligence.
Tamás Lőcsei, CEO of PwC Hungary emphasised large international companies, with greater resources, are likely to be ahead in integrating artificial intelligence into their services and manufacturing processes, while also ensuring they can engage their suppliers.
“Debrecen is very strongly characterised by the presence of large global and multinational companies, and a strong small and medium-sized enterprise sector. This is also a meeting point that can draw attention to the potential of the link between the two sectors,” Mayor of Debrecen László Papp said. He added that Debrecen has become a global economic player, and the summit is an opportunity to assess and analyse what has happened in recent years.
“Debrecen’s economy has experienced a very dynamic development over the past 10 years, and this is likely to be the case in the coming years and decades. It is important to have an appropriate forum to evaluate and analyse what has happened in recent years and to reflect on the challenges of the future, ” the mayor pointed out.
The business summit will be organised by PwC on the 9th of April in a tradition-creating manner. At the forum, economic operators who perform outstanding work are honoured with the “Future Corporate Excellence Award” and the “Business Life Excellence Award”.
