On behalf of the MÁV PLC Railway Regional Directorate, the Mayor’s Office of the City of Debrecen has received a request for the assistance of our city in the removal of fallen trees on the municipal property registered at parcel number 6189, located behind Fényesudvar, Debrecen.
Our experts carried out an on-site inspection of the area concerned, during which they identified the frost heaps and groups of trees that could pose a risk to rail traffic and their surroundings. The main criteria for the selection are to ensure the smooth operation of rail traffic and to avoid the risk of accidents, so only the trees that pose an accident risk will be removed. The works will be carried out before the start of the vegetation and nesting season.
In the surveyed area, the removal of trees classified as hazardous will start on the 7th of March 2024 in cooperation with MÁV and is scheduled to be completed this week. The removal of the felled trees and the follow-up works will take place as soon as possible.
Our Office pays special attention to the management of trees throughout the city, and to the care of trees that pose a risk to the environment, in order to maintain the health of the city’s tree population over the long term. Tree felling is carried out only as a last resort and replacement is always ensured.
