Removal of trees that pose a risk to traffic safety

On the basis of the call of the Debrecen Disaster Management Branch of the Hajdú-Bihar County Disaster Management Directorate, in order to eliminate the danger of life and accidents, the Municipality of Debrecen starts the removal of fallen, rotten and dried trees that endanger the safety of traffic.

Considering road and pedestrian traffic, as well as parked vehicles, the experts will carry out works on the even side of Móricz Zsigmond Road (from the intersection of the external service road of the “Auguszta” block of the Clinic towards the Kartács Street intersection) for about 300 metres until the beginning of the bird nesting season.

The interventions are expected to last for a week from the morning of the 21st of  February 2024 (Wednesday).

During the work, there will be temporary half-lane road closures, with traffic being controlled by traffic signals. Please drive carefully and cautiously, not out of habit, but by following the traffic signs and traffic engineering devices. We ask for your patience and understanding until the works are completed.

Further tree maintenance works (wood cutting, pruning) are also necessary in the affected area, but these will take place after the nesting season, probably from the third quarter of 2024. Until the scheduled works are completed, our experts will continue to monitor the condition of the trees on the site.
