Szoboszlói Street Primary School  held a School Olympics for its students and their parents. 

The Szulimpia was organised in connection with Hungarian sports day and the Olympic year, and the school joined “Move TOGETHER Debrecen!” campaign, which aims to promote and make sports as accessible as possible for ten days.

Students at Szoboszlói úti Primary School in Debrecen got moving together. “Exercise is important for children in order to become healthy adults, and in this Mozdulj, Debrecen! school program has an important role, “ at the opening of the event,  Director of the Debrecen Institute of Primary Care and Health Promotion (DEAFI) Csaba Papp said.

The event was attended by more than 400 pupils who, after receiving the symbolic Olympic flame, had the opportunity to try out a variety of sports, including basketball, handball, table tennis and meet renowned athletes such as  the legendary former handball player of DVSC, two-time EHF Cup winner Erika Csapó.

At Szoboszlói Street Primary School, children’s physical and mental health and the promotion of sport are taken care of.

“From the very first moment we joined the Move Debrecen! programme, and this also meant that we wanted to be part of the Move TOGETHER, Debrecen! ten-day challenge with our entire school community,”  Principal of the school Ágnes Pakurár said.

The event was also attended by Deputy Mayor Diána Széles and municipal representative of the district Ibolya Aurélia Orosz.
