The management of the City of Debrecen and the EDC Debrecen City and Economic Development Centre, as in the past, will continue to place special emphasis on the professional support of local small and medium-sized enterprises, helping them to become suppliers, in order to enable as many local enterprises as possible to successfully join the production and service value chain of companies, and to become suppliers in the fields of electromobility, industry and business services.

Continuing the supplier development efforts of the past years and seeing the great interest in the Supplier Forum held last November, in order to strengthen the links between local economic actors, a Supplier Forum entitled “Supplier Forum – Digitize to Supply” will be held on the 7th of March 2024, jointly organised by the City of Debrecen, EDC Debrecen City and Economic Development Centre and ADMA TranS4MErs programme.

This was announced at a press conference by Lajos Barcsa, Deputy Mayor of Debrecen, Zoltán Pécskay, Managing Director of EDC City and Economic Development Centre, Csaba Juhász, Managing Director of Manz Hungary Ltd. and Zsolt Szabó, Managing Director of ICE-STAR Service Ltd.

Date of the Suppliers’ Forum: 07 March 2024 (Thursday) 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Location of the event: Kölcsey Centre (4026 Debrecen, Hunyadi Street 1-3.)

During the event, we would like to familiarise the leaders of SMEs operating in the region, who are potential suppliers, with the essential aspects of the process of becoming a supplier, highlighting enterprise digitalisation as a key area. We would approach the topic from several, sometimes even opposing perspectives: a large company operating in the city and a local SME already supplying it, alongside a corporate digitalisation expert and a supplier development specialist, to present the complexity of becoming a supplier and supplier relations, highlighting the fundamental interrelationships.

Following the morning presentations, the second half of the event, in the afternoon, similar to last November’s forum, will feature rapid B2B (business to business) introductory talks to support the development and deepening of business relations and supplier cooperation between local and regional businesses. Representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises registered for the event can book appointments with the purchasing managers and operational managers of twelve large local companies, and give a brief 10-minute presentation of their company, products and services to potential customers.

Participation in the forum is free but registration is required, interested local SMEs can register by filling in the form available here.

In order to connect to global value chains, to become a supplier, or even to be competitive and efficient in today’s production, business digitalisation is an inevitable part of the process. Thanks to the ADMA TranS4MErs programme, which supports the digital transformation of SMEs, experts in the field will help interested SMEs to carry out the ADMA Scan to determine the “digital maturity” of their business.

We encourage local small and medium business leaders interested in digitalisation and becoming a supplier to attend the forum, take advantage of the opportunities offered by the ADMA TranS4MErs programme and book a table at the participating large companies to be an active part of the city’s economic empowerment!
