The project details were presented at a press conference by Zoltán Piros, local government representative, on the 15th of September 2023.

The work started on 28th August, and it is gratifying that the large-scale road reconstruction of the Sárga dűlő Phase I in Debrecen, which provides access to the Szepes district, has now been completed a week earlier than planned, Zoltán Piros said.

He continued, explaining that this means that from 15th September 2023, this section of the road can once again be used without restrictions. On the section of the Sárga dűlő between Hajdúszováti Road and Szeméttelepi Road, the ageing asphalt pavement, the road surface and the drainage ditches were renovated over a length of 640 metres, with a gross investment of HUF 50 million from the Municipality of Debrecen.

The local buses of the DKV Transit Authority (DKV) with the number 39 will operate from 15th of September 2023 on the old route, which is familiar to passengers. Zoltán Piros stressed: “This investment demonstrates that the Municipality of Debrecen is serving the needs of the residents not only of the inner but also of the outer districts of the city, including Szepes.”

The representative said the municipality plans to continue the renovation of the Sárga Dűlő in two phases, using different resources. Zoltán Piros pointed out in his constituency, the southern part of the town, major developments have recently begun, such as the construction of the gymnasium of the Epreskert primary school, the construction of a road in the Tégláskert area, and the construction of a section of pavement linking Tégláskert, Epreskert and Mikepércsi roads.
