Local services
On Sunday, the 8th of October 2023, the intersections of Segner Square and Hatvan Street and Segner Square and Kishegyesi Road will be resurfaced from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., weather permitting. The above-mentioned intersections and the traffic lanes between them will be completely closed on this day.
During the works the following temporary traffic regime will be in force:
- There will be no access to Segner Square from the direction of Hatvan Street. From Hatvan Street only in the direction of Vendég and Csap Streets (it is recommended to use Nagy Imre Street and Mester Street for detour).
- On Nyugati Street from Széchenyi Street straight ahead and left turns will be forbidden, only right turns to Hatvan Street will be allowed (detour via Széchenyi Street – Tisza István Street – Nagy Imre Street is recommended).
- From the direction of Pesti Street, straight on to Segner Square will be prohibited, only a small right turn onto Kishegyesi Street will be allowed (detour via Mester Street – Nagy Imre Street – Tisza István Street is recommended).
- At the intersection of Kishegyesi Road and István Road, it will be forbidden to continue straight ahead from Kishegyesi Road; only a right turn onto István Road and a left turn into the parking lot of the TESCO supermarket will be allowed.
During the construction works, the traffic lights at the intersections of Segner Square and Hatvan Street and Segner Square and Kishegyesi Road will be in yellow flashing mode. At the intersection of Kishegyesi Road and István Road, the reinforcement of the no-entry zone and the diversion of traffic will be carried out under the control of the contractor’s traffic signal. Inspectors from the Debrecen Public Area Inspectorate will ensure effective enforcement of the traffic order. During the closure, the affected DKV Zrt. services will operate on a diversionary route. On 9th-10th October (Monday and Tuesday), pavement signs will be painted, weather permitting. The Segner Square – Hatvan Street junction will have a new traffic regime: it will be possible to turn left from the inside straight lane onto Hatvan Street from Segner tér instead of the current left lane (e.g. similar to the junction of Nyugati and Széchenyi Street).
Please avoid this section of the road and these junctions by using the Nagy Imre Street – Mester Street – Bartók Béla Road – István Road route, if possible, to avoid congestion.
