Work on the envelope of the Mist Theatre (Nagyerdei Ködszínház) has been completed, and the projector and laser for the screenings will be serviced in the next few days.
Evening screenings will resume soon on the water stage of the Mist Theatre in the Great Forest, according to the mayor’s office. The attraction, which was launched in 2014, was quickly loved by the people of Debrecen and tourists visiting the city. From evening to evening, many people go to the forest to watch the projection again and again, which shows the values, sights and curiosities of the city on films projected on the water barrier, most of which were made by our colleagues.
The pavement repairs at the Mist Theatre have been completed; the fountain is now filled, and the water system is up and running; however, the maintenance work on the projector and laser for the screenings is still ongoing.
According to the contractor, the earliest date for the start of evening screenings is the second week of June. As in previous years, the screenings of short films and laser animations will continue to be held at 8 p.m., 9 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Due to increased energy costs, the fountains in Debrecen started operating in mid-May this year for economic reasons and will be in operation until mid-September.
The municipality is responsible for maintaining a total of 16 fountains and spouts in Debrecen.
The following fountains and spouts are already in operation in Debrecen: the ceramic fountain on Kossuth Square, the fountain on Lake Békás, the fountain on Dósa nádor Square, the fountain on Vezér Street (6-8 Vezér Street), the fountain of Hal-köz, the fountain of Ady Park, the fountain of Csapó Street, the fountain of Baltazár Dezső Square, the fountain of Déri Square and the water engineering system of the Mist Theatre. The fountain in front of 16 Piac Street is still undergoing maintenance and renovation work but will be put into operation once they are completed. It is planned to have this fountain up and running in a few days.
The fountains with light shows are usually open from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., but the Hal-köz fountain will be open with a continuous light show.
