“On the website dealing with higher education topics, voters could cast one vote every day between 25th of November and the 15th of December for the university building they considered the most beautiful. More than 7,000 votes were received, which revealed that, according to Eduline readers, the most beautiful university building in Hungary belongs to the University of Debrecen,” the university announced.
The University of Debrecen gained a significant advantage in the first few days and confidently maintained its first place, collecting almost half of the votes. Budapest Technical University also maintained its second place throughout, but it was only revealed at the last moment which institution would stand on the third step of the imaginary podium. At the beginning of the competition, Corvinus was in third place, with Eötvös Loránd University not far behind, but in the end both institutions were overtaken by the University of Pécs.
The list of the 5 universities that received the most votes is as follows:
University of Debrecen: 2881 votes
Budapest Technical University: 1415 votes
University of Pécs: 529 votes
Corvinus University of Budapest: 415 votes
Eötvös Loránd University: 377 votes
The other universities received less than 300 votes, but the Károli Gáspár Reformed University (299 votes), the University of Veterinary Medicine (268 votes) and the University of Miskolc (249 votes) also performed well.
