The Strengthening of Economic Cooperation Between the City and Germany Is of Great Importance

Mayor of Debrecen László Papp visited Germany with Deputy Mayor of Debrecen Lajos Barcsa.

The primary aim of the trip was to give a new impetus to Debrecen-Hungarian-German economic relations. In Berlin, Debrecen’s city leaders took part in economic programs, where they discussed the attractiveness of Debrecen, the potential of the supplier industry, urban development investments, and cooperation between German and Hungarian companies. As László Papp wrote on his social networking site in connection with the event: Debrecen is seen as a good example in Germany.

Last Sunday, they traveled to Paderborn: Debrecen has maintained an active relationship with the German city in the fields of education, culture, and tourism since 1994, László Papp wrote on his social media page. Here they attended a presentation entitled Perspectives of German-Hungarian economic cooperation – Business Day in Paderborn.

“There are a lot of challenges facing the world today. At a time when our lives are overshadowed by war, inflation, and high energy prices, stability is of particular importance,” László Papp wrote on his social media page.

“German companies employ thousands of people in Debrecen, so it is particularly important to strengthen the already excellent cooperation”, he stressed.
