The Hungarian Association of Mental Health Telephone Services has been organising a conference for its professionals and volunteers since 1997.
This year, the conference was held in Debrecen, where the content of the call, the different sources of danger and prevention options for young people were discussed.
Debrecen has a special role in this work, as it was the first city in the country to launch a telephone helpline in 1970. Now the “Caring City” programme ensures the coordination of the work of the help organisations,” Deputy Mayor István Puskás said in his welcome speech.
“The aim of the programme is to organise the various systems to work as efficiently as possible as mediators, to help and care in different areas of life and different areas of society,” the Deputy Mayor pointed out.
