During the national series of events of the Ars Sacra Festival, the gates of the churches are opened, their architectural and artistic values, and performances, discussions, and children’s programs await those interested.
Debrecen churches have been opening their doors for years as part of the Ars Sacra Festival.
Sacred spaces to be visited during the walk:
• Oratory of the Reformed College
• Kossuth Street Church
• Orthodox Church
• Greek Catholic Church
• St. Anne’s Cathedral
• Evangelical Church
• Pásti Street Synagogue
• Great Church
At the sites, you can learn about the history of the churches and get a glimpse of the congregation’s spirituality.
Those interested can take part in a walk combined with a free guided tour of the exhibition and the music program. The leaders of the respective communities speak briefly about the history of the churches and buildings.
The night program ends with an organ concert in the Great Church.
