On the 15th of March, the Wildlife Park releases storks that have spent winter in the park and become stronger. There are two release dates during the year: the spring release in mid-March and the summer release in August. Among the injured or weakened captured storks, there are always some that are judged by the experts to be not ready to migrate due to their condition.
Guests arriving on the 10.00 a.m.,11.00 a.m. and 12.00 p.m. bus services can take part in the ringing and release of the White Storks.
The Hortobágy Wildlife Park, accessible only by the national park bus, which takes guests from the car park near the Hortobágy church (Hortobágy, Petőfi Square 1) to the wildlife park every hour between 10.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. The last return bus leaves at 3.30 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased after the arrival of the bus in the cafeteria of the wildlife park for 2200 HUF/person for adults, 1700 HUF/person for students and pensioners, and 6000 HUF/family.
The programme is weather dependent.
