On Wednesday next week, Debrecen’s General Assembly will decide on the 2025 Debrecen Prefabricated House tender, which, if approved, will be published on the panelprogram website the following day, and applications will be accepted until 31 October.
In February 2023, László Papp announced that a panel programme would be launched in Debrecen with a budget of half a billion forints per year. At the Mayor’s suggestion, the city assembly also committed to provide the same half a billion forints per year for the next five years.
In the first year, applications were invited for the replacement of windows and doors, the insulation of façades and ceilings, and the energy-saving replacement of lifts, while last year, residents’ associations were able to apply for the renovation of lifts, and this will be the case this year as well, if the representatives accept László Papp’s proposal on this matter.
A new element will be that residents’ associations will also be able to apply for the individual control of heating and a remotely readable cost-sharing system.
Not only prefabricated houses, but also residents’ associations of non-energy-efficient brick-built apartment blocks with a minimum of 12 flats built before 1990 will be able to apply for the panel scheme.
Last year, 26 applications were received in response to the call for proposals, compared to 16 in 2023, and all were supported.
