At the end of last year, the first phase of Debrecen’s SME Park in the Southern Economic Zone was reported to be soon completed.

Mayor László Papp said that the city government’s goal when launching the programme was to offer small and medium-sized enterprises in Debrecen and the surrounding area the same industrial park environment for their development as is available to large companies moving to the Southern Economic Zone. In addition, due to the proximity, a lively supplier relationship can develop between larger, medium-sized and smaller companies.

The plants and sites of the companies that won the tender are continuously being built in the SME Park. For example, the site of Agroszika Ltd. was handed over at the end of November last year, the contractor of which was Dryvit Profi Ltd. from Debrecen. B-Ép Profi Ltd., which belongs to the Dryvit group of companies, is now present in the SME Park of the Southern Economic Zone not only as a contractor, but also as an investor.

According to Dryvit Profi’s Facebook page, they are building a nearly five thousand square meter warehouse. The earthworks and foundation works proceeded smoothly and according to plan, so the prefabricated reinforced concrete structure of the building was completed in just six weeks. They added that after the Christmas break, they continued the work with renewed vigor in January, with the placement of the reinforcing steel structure and the high-ribbed trapezoidal sheets. The construction is currently progressing at a rapid pace, and their new hall building will acquire its final form and function by the end of June 2025.

Managing Director László Bana told Dehir that they would like to rent the hall to a company or companies operating in the Southern Economic Zone and performing logistics activities in the future. They are confident that the companies will create many jobs, thus helping the livelihood of several families in Debrecen.
