DKV’s website has been renewed
The new website was designed primarily to address the needs of mobile users, international trends, and the results of company surveys.
At Thursday’s press conference, it was announced that as part of the image change initiated in 2024, the website of DKV Zrt. has been renewed.
In addition to a design tailored to the needs of the travelling public today, special attention was paid to functionality and the creation of a user-friendly interface that can also be conveniently used on mobile phones. The previously distinct-looking dkvejegy.hu and timetable search portals have been integrated into a unified interface that aligns with the new image. The DKV transIT application is being replaced by a completely newly developed application, MyDKV.
László Mátyus, Innovation and Service Development Director of DKV Zr, explained that not only domestic documents, such as Hungarian ID cards and student ID cards, but also foreigners now have the opportunity to purchase electronic tickets and passes using their passports. On the home page, visitors will find the most popular applications, including news and blog posts with rich visual elements, which can be accessed with a single click. Since the rate of electronic ticket and pass purchases now exceeds 75%, dkvejegy.hu has also been renewed: the previously known functions are available with a new look as part of the new website. The interface now also offers foreigners living in Debrecen who do not have Hungarian documents the opportunity to purchase electronic tickets and passes.
“Several new functions useful for passengers have also become available on the site. The up-to-date Forgalmi Hírek (Traffic News) function, in an expanded form, also displays changes affecting the timetable on a map. The affected stops and the modified route are now also visually available to passengers. Photos capturing important moments in the company’s life are now available in a new, full-screen photo gallery, providing passengers with easier schedule planning as the basic premise. Obviously, in the last 10 years, since this application was 10 years old, a lot has changed, including in terms of user habits—we took these as a basis,” CEO of DKV Zrt. Szabolcs Tóth said.
“Another important milestone in real-time passenger information and travel planning in Debrecen is the MyDKV mobile application. The application, available on both Android and iOS systems, offers a new platform for planning trips with DKV services in real-time. The available services and stops are visible in a map view when the app is opened. More than 80 percent of the website is accessed on mobile phones, and our public transport company already sells tickets electronically in over 75 percent of cases. I think this is a response to the passenger needs we have experienced in the recent period,” Deputy Mayor Lajos Barcsa pointed out.
The free-to-download application displays nearby stops and departure times based on GPS, taking into account walking time, and provides reliable assistance with route planning. DKV’s real-time timetable data is still available in the popular Menetrend app and Google Maps applications.
