On this day the Zoo celebrates the relationship between animals and their adopters. On the “Christmas for Animals” event they offer an exclusive programme for foster carers, which is by invitation only, but of course they welcome everyone on this special day.

10:30 a.m. – Presentation on the events of 2024
11:00 a.m. – Walk with the foster parents
12:00 p.m. – Arrival at the Samburu Panoramic Terrace
General program
10:00 . a.m – 2:00 p.m. – Crafts corner using natural and recycled materials (Gibbon House)
1:00 p.m – 3:00 p.m. – Pony carriage
12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Adoption and information point on the Samburu Panorama Terrace (+ mulled wine )
1:00 p.m. – Meet and greet with Bán, the rockhopper penguin
1:30 p.m. – Artificial prey and environmental enrichment demonstration with Siberian tigers
2:30 p.m. – Cumingi monitor lizard feeding (Palm House)

9:30 a.m. – Nile hippos’ Christmas menu
10:00 a.m. – South American tapirs’ festive snack
10:00 a.m. – Capuchin monkeys’ Christmas meal
10:30 a.m. – Proboscis monkey bears’ holiday snack
11:00 a.m. – Meerkats’ Christmas collecting tour
1:30 p.m. – Siberian tiger family’s gift-unwrapping
2:30 p.m. – Penguins’ fish feast
On this day, visitors will have the opportunity to adopt their pet. Any animal in the institution can be adopted “from stick insects to spotted giraffes”.
What the Zoo offers:

- membership in the Friends of the Zoo community
- participation in the annual foster parent meeting, where the Zoo will report on the adopted pet’s past year.
