Family Days will be held on 27th and the 28th of January from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The two-day program offers young and old alike a great opportunity to get a glimpse into the lives of the birds and their exotic relatives that spend the winter here. In the framework of an interactive zoo pedagogic session, visitors can learn how to make their garden bird-friendly, how they can make feeders with their own hands for feathered friends, and they can also observe the native birds of the Great Forest together with binoculars.
The House of Knowledge opens its doors, where guests can take part in an owl spit testing and educational sessions organised by the Hortobágy National Park and the Hajdú-Bihar County Food Rescue Association.
The Green Circle brings local nature conservation closer to interested people in a playful way, and those who are really capable can take on the role of ethologists and participate in animal behaviour research.
Of course, the park’s birds will also present themselves during a guided tour combined with festive feedings from funny penguins to tricky ravens and the exotic inhabitants of Africa, to colourful parrots, but there also will be a falcon show to admire on both days.
All program elements are free of charge with a zoo ticket.
