Guest Performance of Former Member of the World-Famous Acapella Group Jānis Ozols

One of the main events of the Debrecen Spring Festival will be an evening entitled “Being a guest at the Kodály Choir”.

Former member of the world-famous Acapella group Cosmos Jānis Ozols graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm with a degree in choral conducting.

As a member of Cosmos, he has worked with world-renowned musicians and bands such as Bobby McFerrin, The Real Group, Take 6, Manhattan Transfer, The Hilliard Ensemble, The New York Voices, Flying Pickets, M-Pact and Icelandic music icon Björk.

He has achieved many notable achievements both in his home country and abroad, including the Special Prize for Best Conductor at the 13th International Choir Competition in Barcelona and the Best New Conductor at the 49th International Choir Competition. The Kodály Choir, under the direction of conductor Ozols, will take the audience on a musical journey to the Baltic States on the 19th of  April at 7:00 p.m. in the University of Debrecen’s Assembly Hall.
