“Lyrics Lab” is an interactive, creative workshop for translating singable song lyrics and to bring American songs to life in Hungarian. Its first kick-off meeting will held on the 19th of February.
Led by Dr. István Pinczés, award-winning director, translator, and lyricist, “Lyrics Lab” explores the heart of American music through the power of language. From Bob Dylan’s poetic storytelling and the timeless charisma of Elvis to the raw energy of The Doors and Steppenwolf, participants will work with legendary songs that have shaped American culture. Through discussion and hands-on exercises, attendees will transform classic American lyrics into natural, rhythmic Hungarian versions, capturing both meaning and melody.
Whether you’re a language enthusiast, a music lover, or simply curious about creative translation, this biweekly workshop series offers a unique way to engage with both the English and Hungarian language in a fun, artistic setting.
