Mihály Day Spring Fair in Debrecen, held in Böszörményi Road this year awaits visitors on the 11th and the 12th of May with around 800-1000 vendors.
Sellers come from all over Hungary to the fair, mostly from the county of Hajdú-Bihar, but visitors can meet sellers from Budapest, Szeged, Békéscsaba, and there will also be Polish and Romanian sellers.
There was a wholesale fair in Debrecen in the spring when 200,000 customers visited the fair!
A food court will be established at Bólyai Street, featuring five food distribution companies. Other stands will offer delicacies, a grill terrace for authentic Debrecen sausage, retro hamburgers and hot dogs, kürtöskalács (horn cake), strudels, donuts, beer specialties, cheeses, and Hungarian strawberries.
Changes in traffic patterns during the spring fair:
Vehicular traffic will be prohibited and no waiting will be allowed from 5:30 p.m. on May 10th until 5:00 a.m. on the 13th between Bolyai Street, Böszörményi út and Thomas Mann Street, and Akadémia Street between Böszörményi Road and Kertváros Street.
On the 9th of May, from 5:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on the 13th, it will be prohibited to wait with vehicles on both sides of the Doberdó Street – Kartács Street – Dóczy József Street route.
Vehicle traffic will be prohibited on the section between Békessy Béla Street, Böszörményi Road and Görgey Street, and you will not be allowed to wait either.
Cycling will be prohibited on the section of the bike path next to Böszörményi Street between Békessy Béla Street and Menyhárt József Square.
On the section of József Attila Street between Kertváros Street and Böszörményi Road , it is forbidden to stop and wait on both sides, and on this same section, a one-way traffic order will be introduced in the direction of Böszörményi Road.
The service road along Böszörményi Road from Füredi Road to Kartács Road will be fully passable.
In the area affected by the fair, temporary taxi stands will be set up in three places.
The traffic will be diverted to the route Böszörményi Road – Doberdó Street – Kartács Street – Dóczy József Street – Egyetem Avenuet – Füredi Road – Böszörményi Road and back.
