The most famous excerpt from The Tales of Hoffmann, the Barcarolle duet, was performed by the private singing students of the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen on Wednesday, giving a taste of one of the most popular works of opera literature.
The Csokonai National Theatre in cooperation with the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen’s Department of Private Singing will stage the 70-minute piece, which will be performed five times, the first time on the 21st of March.
The only opera by French composer Jacques Offenbach is directed by Artur Vranyecz, and all the 25 art students will be included, making their training even more practical.
Age group: The performance is recommended for upper elementary school students.
