New Public Collection Exhibition of MODEM titled “What year are you?” opened

The new public collection exhibition, with around 50 different artists presented from the founders to Generation Z marking a new chapter for MODEM, can be visited until the 31st of December 2024. The curators of the exhibition have chosen artists who have shaped MODEM's image over the years, showcasing works from a collection that has evolved over 18 years, incorporating collections, acquisitions, Debrecen International Artists' Colony results, and artist donations. Interactive exhibitions in Hortobágy National Park

“Evoking the Past” Hologram Exhibition in Agora

The 125th anniversary of the birth of the inventor of holography, Nobel Prize-winning physicist-engineer Dénes Gábor, will be celebrated in 2025. To mark the occasion, the Novofer Foundation and the Agora Science Experience Centre have created a joint exhibition that takes us back in time, showcasing holograms that are 20-30 years old in terms of technology, but still timeless today.  Collected from around the world, the holographic works come from the estate of Dénes Gábor's former colleague, Professor Pál Greguss. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to get up close and personal with an important piece of Hungarian and universal technological history. The exhibition is a unique experience in the spirit of scientific education, as you can explore the holograms with a torch in your hand, illuminated from different angles and experimenting. The exhibition will be on display in the Agora's Interactive Space until the 15th of December 2024. Exhibition Titled “Colourful World” Opens in Villa Borsos

Ilona Pincse has travelled halfway around the world,  she has painter friends in Poland, Bulgaria and the US, but she also enjoys her time in the heart of the city. She is well known in the city, as she is often seen at local events and likes to post photos of them on her social networking site.  Soon she can be met in the company of her paintings, her exhibition will open on Wednesday the 6th of  November at 5.00 p.m.  at DEMKI Borsos Villa.  For her, nature, streams, hills and forests are very inspiring, just like the Great Forest  in Debrecen. The exhibition  “Colourful World” will be opened by institutional communicator (who is the daughter of the painter and likes to make ceramics), Olívia Szentirmay and a welcome speech will be given by graphic artist Sándor Gárdonyi. Exhibition of Debrecen teachers in Pásti Street Synagogue

The Jewish Community of Debrecen closes the "Holocaust 80 - Debrecen" series of programmes with a selection of works by the teachers of the Kós Károly Art Secondary School, Technical School and College of Art at Pásti Street Synagogue. The exhibition titled “Identity Fragments” opens on Wednesday the 6th of  November at 4.30 p.m. with the welcome speech  by Deputy Mayor István Puskás, Tamás Horovitz, President of DZSH (Jewish Community of Debrecen) and Tünde Vargáné Szabadka, Director General of the Kós Károly School. Full-dome Films in English in Agora

Full-dome films are offered in English to the visitors of the Science Centre. Agora Science Centre has one of the largest portable digital planetariums in Hungary that enables visitors to surf in the starry sky, discover the motion of celestial bodies, and familiarise themselves with constellations. It guarantees a lifelong experience for both children and adults. Full-dome films available in English are the following: Europe to the Stars - from 4.00  p.m. every Thursday and Saturday. The Sun, Our Living Star - from 4.00 p.m. every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Participation is possible with the Agora entry ticket. The planetarium has a capacity of 40 people. Magical Pinocchio LIghts Show at Debrecen Zoo

On the 18th of October, Debrecen Zoo will host a special event, where a magical multimedia exhibition and light show will open for the first time in a rural city, from 5:00 p.m. At the opening ceremony, Mayor László Papp will officially inaugurate the exhibition and the park's latest renewable energy investment, which will provide a quarter of the non-profit company's electricity consumption for the whole year, thus covering the entire renewable energy needs of the exhibition for half a year. Garden of Lights is a magical space with light installations and projections, transporting visitors to the world of Pinocchio. It's a great family attraction, combining fairy tales, technology, and creativity, creating unforgettable memories and connecting generations.
