Exhibition Opening with a Book Launch at Gallery21

In 2024, the Debrecen Association for Nature Conservation and Culture held the award ceremony of the now traditional 9th Nature Conservation, Literature, Poetry, Prose, Story and Nature Photography Contest in Budapest. The event was attended by prize-winning students from all over the country and beyond its borders. On the occasion of the Day of Hungarian Culture, the public is invited to the presentation of the book "Walking in the Forest, Green Fields" and the photo exhibition illustrating the book. The exhibition will be opened by President of the Debrecen Association for the Great Forest of Debrecen,Ibolya Marincsák on Monday the 20th of  January at 5:00 p.m. in Gallery 21. Search for Nests of Birds of Prey

In addition to the winter forest bird walk, the field programme of the Hortobágy National Park Directorate on the 25th of January will have the important aim of finding and registering nests of birds of prey, so the effectiveness will depend largely on the number of the group. The leafless, winter period is the best time to find and count nests and then check back in spring, and early summer to see what birds of prey are using them for breeding. Accurate mapping of nests of protected and/or highly protected birds of prey helps to ensure the success of conservation work and species protection activities. Visitors can also learn about the first nature reserve in the country and its wildlife. Participation is free of charge, but pre-registration is requested. Family Birds Days at Debrecen Zoo

Traditionally, on the last weekend in January birds will be the main attraction at Debrecen Zoo to which visitors are welcome on both days. Programmes: 25 January (Saturday)  All-day activities (9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.): - Which species of bird do we have in mind? - Free of charge with a pick-up sheet at the cash desk - Put yourself in the shoes of an ethologist - Observe the behaviour of the Zoo’s  birds with a free exercise sheet. Open rehearsal of Gradient Contemporary Ballet

Gradient Contemporary Ballet Debrecen invites visitors to a public rehearsal on the 25th of January, where they gain insight into the work of the theater’s dance department and experience firsthand what happens behind the scenes. The dancers are already excitedly preparing for the February premiere of their performance Reverie, and now for the first time the audience can get a taste of this special contemporary dance performance. The event is also a  unique opportunity to get to know the members of the theatre’s international dance department better, who are looking forward to welcoming all interested parties.
