GENEZIS: Gradient Contemporary Ballet Performance

The word Genesis originates from Ancient Greek, meaning birth, origin, or creation. The title was chosen for the performance because it symbolises the beginning of a new project. This is the first time that three talented company dancers - Fernando Hernández, Kristóf Juhász, and Valerio Zaffalon - are creating their own choreography, involving the entire company of Gradient Contemporary Ballet Debrecen. Through this, they unleash their creativity and reveal different worlds to the audience. Genezis bears a strong resemblance to the art of choreography itself, everything begins with a spark, an idea that suddenly takes shape and is brought to life through the creator’s craft. The dancer-choreographers summarised their intentions for the production in their own words, each giving a title to their piece: An Intimate Self-Portrait - Fernando Hernández An Intimate Self-Portrait is an unfiltered exploration of identity, vulnerability, and transformation through movement. Chinese Filmfest

On 1 June, Apollo Cinema will screen two films chosen from the programme of the “Imázsia” Chinese Film Week in Budapest. The aim of the event in Debrecen is the same as in the capital: to present a selection of Chinese films to the local audience and Chinese viewers living in Hungary as well. The programme of the “Imázsia” Chinese Film Festival in Debrecen is organised by OTT-HOME International Meeting Point, co-organised by Imázsia Nonprofit Ltd. and professionally supported by the Confucius Institute of the University of Debrecen. The main sponsor of the Imázsia Film Festival in Debrecen is Eve Power. The screenings will take place at the Apollo Cinema in Debrecen on 1 June: At 2:00 p.m. "The Successor" will be screened with English and Hungarian subtitles. Pentecost Concert at the Great Church

Parno Graszt will perform for the first time at the Great Reformed Church of Debrecen with their well-known songs, a testimony and a surprise guest. The band has already toured almost the entire world, giving concerts all over Europe, in several countries in Asia, and several times in the USA and Mexico. The band, which has been operating for more than 30 years, is constantly creating songs with new styles and appearances to make the true Parno Graszt feeling accessible to everyone. Year after year, they collaborate with popular artists: Bagossy Brothers, Bohemian Betyars, Dánielfy, Kávészünet, Pogány Induló and Punnany Massif. The relationship between the members is unshakable, they form a family. Perhaps this could be one of the secrets of the band's success, the unbreakable unity.
