The Art Week Series of Events is Held Again in Debrecen

Between 15 and 18 May, the exhibition and alternative spaces of the city centre will offer guided tours, workshops and studio visits, and a flash mob will be added to the programme, alongside musical and literary experiences. All this will take place at the same time as and in line with the 34th Debrecen Spring Fair. The programme will be organised in 14 locations, in cooperation with 16 exhibition venues, associations, art schools and individuals in Debrecen. “Fine art is a very important part of the city's cultural life, and it deserves to have a strong focus, as there is a large audience, many artists and many art lovers and art supporters in the city,”  as Deputy Mayor of Debrecen István Puskás, summarised. Exhibition of the Works of Árpád Bényi Opens

As one of the programmes of the II Debrecen Art Week, Árpád Bényi's exhibition entitled “I was born in Transylvania” will open, featuring paintings. The exhibition will be opened by literary historian Ferenc Vitéz, who has a personal relationship with the artist, with classical guitaristm Imre Kocsi performing at the event. 30th Great Debrecen Record Fair

Debrecen’s First Elegant Motorcycle Parade

Debrecen will host its first Debrecen Gentleman's Ride on 18 May. The stylish, elegant motorcycle parade aims to raise awareness of the importance of men's health. Inspired by the world-renowned Distinguished Gentleman's Ride event, the event is not only a motorcycle event, but also a social cause: participants will ride their bikes in elegant, classic attire to promote awareness of men's mental and physical health. Men's health issues, particularly prostate cancer and mental health challenges, are often taboo subjects. The Gentleman's Ride aims to raise awareness of these issues in a stylish and positive way, while creating a community experience for participants and spectators. On Sunday morning at 10.00 a.m., all participants are expected to arrive in front of the Debrecen Motodrom (50 Szoboszlói Road).The organisers also ask that participants wear elegant, classic attire. Georges Bizet’s Opera, Carmen at the Csokonai Theatre

150 years ago, on 3 March, Bizet's opera Carmen was premiered. On 7 March, just a few days apart from the anniversary, the Csokonai Theatre in Debrecen also staged the everlasting story. The performance is directed by Kossuth Prize-winning dance artist Tamás Juronics. Castle Garden Evenings

Debrecen Drive 2025

One of the country's largest automotive and vehicle shows will be held again in Debrecen, between 23-25 May 2025.  Debrecen Drive will again offer a colourful range of exhibitions and programmes. In addition to hundreds of different vehicles (e.g. new models, old timers, top predators, sports and rally cars, motorcycles), spectacular drift and motorcycle shows, children's games, exhibitions and drone shows will be waiting for families, both young and old, during the Children's Day weekend.  The event will also feature a Ferrari clothing collection, unique in Europe, and a curio collection of junior cars. The Schaeffler Mini Drive will bring the Formula 1 experience to life, with children lining up on the grid with cars they have built themselves.  The full weekend programme opens on Friday evening with the Metal-Sheet Night Drive, a night-time car and motorcycle night show, with motorcycle jumps, drifts, stunt shows, amazing stunts and special light, smoke and flame effects.
