Concert Showcasing Ennio Morricone’s Timeless Works

On May 24, a string quartet performs the most famous film scores by one of the most famous and popular film composers, Ennio Morricone which include songs from iconic movies such as Once Upon a Time in the Wild West, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Wicked Eight, Who Defeated Al Capone, The Professional and many more.  The concert will be more than just a musical experience. The hall will be lit with hundreds and hundreds of candles, creating a magical atmosphere that perfectly complements Morricone's timeless works. Weekend Bird Observation in Hortobágy

Hortobágyi Nemzeti Park Hortobágy, Petőfi tér 9, Debrecen, Hungary

Participants can take part in a 1.5-hour nature walk with a guide. During the programme, they will learn about the features of the fish pond show area, the spring bird migration, and even meet summer geese leading their chicks, and more. With the help of a magnifying telescope, they can get up close and personal with the busy spring bird life in the wetlands. The walks are 2.5 km long, weather appropriate clothing and hand binoculars are recommended. Masterpieces by Mozart and Schubert Performed at the Debrecen Church

Who would have thought that of all Mozart's bassoon concertos (because he supposedly composed five), only one remains to us? The Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra's chamber orchestra concert on 27 May in the University Church will include this work. Visitors to the concert will also be able to hear a true gem of the divertimento genre, the composer's Serenade in D major, better known as the Serenata notturna. Mozart's masterpieces will be joined by Schubert's Symphony No 8 (B minor,  the famous 'Unfinished' symphony, whose incompleteness is perhaps its endlessness. The title of the evening is “Hymn to Infinity”. The soloist is József Vitányi, bassoonist of the Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra. Summer Kick-off – Season Closing Dance House

GENEZIS: Gradient Contemporary Ballet Performance

The word Genesis originates from Ancient Greek, meaning birth, origin, or creation. The title was chosen for the performance because it symbolises the beginning of a new project. This is the first time that three talented company dancers - Fernando Hernández, Kristóf Juhász, and Valerio Zaffalon - are creating their own choreography, involving the entire company of Gradient Contemporary Ballet Debrecen. Through this, they unleash their creativity and reveal different worlds to the audience. Genezis bears a strong resemblance to the art of choreography itself, everything begins with a spark, an idea that suddenly takes shape and is brought to life through the creator’s craft. The dancer-choreographers summarised their intentions for the production in their own words, each giving a title to their piece: An Intimate Self-Portrait - Fernando Hernández An Intimate Self-Portrait is an unfiltered exploration of identity, vulnerability, and transformation through movement. It is not just a performance, but a revelation, a raw and honest act of self-offering. This piece is not about visibility, but about emotional presence.
