The craft workshops of the House of Traditions offer a variety of activities, where visitors can get to know the natural materials of the crafts, original and reimagined craft techniques. The themes of the activities are designed to give both adults and children the joy of creating. The handicraft workshops will be held on the 22nd of November 2024 on behalf of the House of Traditions by the Folk Art Association of Debrecen and Hajdú-Bihar County and the Folk Art Association of Bihar.  During the day, visitors will have the opportunity to try out six folk craft techniques closely related to Debrecen and the various ethnographic regions of the county. These include bead weaving, gingerbread making and decorating, candle making, straw weaving, filter embroidery and traditional clothes (made of sheep wool) decoration making. Csokonai Theatre invites all their audience members to the guided tours of Csokonai Theatre. These tours, led by our actors, will reveal the hidden spaces and secrets of the nearly 160-year-old building that are usually concealed from the public. Following the completion of the renovation work in 2023, the theatre tours commenced immediately, offering insights not only into the building’s history but also into the restoration process. Experienced actors of the theatre guide visitors through the theatre’s greatest secrets, taking them to locations such as the dressing rooms, stage, prop storage, actor’s lounge, orchestra pit, and even the multi-story structure of the revolving stage.
