1st Debrecen Fair

The aim of the 1st Debrecen Fair (Hungarian: I. Debreceni Sokadalom) is to organise a fair that pays homage to Debrecen's market history and showcases the best of the city's fair culture, while representing a forward-looking direction, showing how past, present and future can be brought together in a single entity. The event fuses the true traditional fair atmosphere with the modernity of today. In the spirit of preserving tradition, treasures meeting the needs of today's age will be found as well as entertainment for young and old. 6th Batthyányi Fair and Children’s Flea Market

Debrecen Creative Community will once again bring a unique program to Debrecen's first pedestrian street on the 12th of October between 9.00 a.m. and 12.00 p.m, with the 6th Batthyány fair and children's flea market. The fair will feature shops from the street, and there will be a special flea market for children. In order to sell goods at the flea market, filling out the application form is mandatory. Terra-Aqua Fair in Debrecen

Summer Closing Latin Street Ball in the Heart of Debrecen

Magical Pinocchio LIghts Show at Debrecen Zoo

On the 18th of October, Debrecen Zoo will host a special event, where a magical multimedia exhibition and light show will open for the first time in a rural city, from 5:00 p.m. At the opening ceremony, Mayor László Papp will officially inaugurate the exhibition and the park's latest renewable energy investment, which will provide a quarter of the non-profit company's electricity consumption for the whole year, thus covering the entire renewable energy needs of the exhibition for half a year. Garden of Lights is a magical space with light installations and projections, transporting visitors to the world of Pinocchio. It's a great family attraction, combining fairy tales, technology, and creativity, creating unforgettable memories and connecting generations. Mega Brick City Lego Exhibition

On the 19th  and the 20th of October, one of the largest exhibitions built from LEGO® elements in Hungary, the nearly 100 square metre Mega Brick City, will visit Debrecen and be hosted in Kölcsey Center. Interesting buildings, locations and vehicles to see at the exhibition: a police and a fire department , an amusement park and a "mini world", a harbour and a beach, an airport with 100 planes and helicopters, suburbs, a main square and building sites, 50 trainsets, a motorway with 40 vehicles, skyscrapers, wind turbines, a highway overpass and so on. 1st Globus – Mozaik Med Run Day around Lake Vekeri

The 1st Globus - Mozaik Med Run Day will take place on Sunday the 20th of October. The aim of the organisers is to get children, parents, grandparents and everyone to enjoy the joy of movement in a family-friendly, outdoor day. They also want to raise awareness of the fight against breast cancer. Runners are not the only ones who can contribute to the cause: charity tickets can also be bought and donations made without running. The organisers are raising money to purchase a breast surgery tool to detect the isotope-marked sentinel lymph node. 3 day Classical Concert Series in Kölcsey Center

Who would have thought that Grieg, Tchaikovsky and Brahms lived at the same time? How did these musical giants interact? Although they created music in different styles, their encounters left a lasting impression. The first two concerts of the Russian Music Festival explore these questions. On the 20th of  October at 7:00 p.m. - "When Grieg's wife sang for Tchaikovsky" - Lilla Horti (soprano) will sing the "role" of Nina with Gergely Kovács playing the piano. The story goes that in 1888, Brahms, Grieg and Tchaikovsky met at a special dinner. Grieg quickly became a fan of Tchaikovsky and tried to meet him as often as possible during his stay in Leipzig. On these occasions Grieg and his wife Nina performed songs for Tchaikovsky's enjoyment. Tchaikovsky did not consider the Norwegian composer a composer of note, but he thought him very human, which he appreciated.
