Wizz Air currently offers flights to seven cities from Debrecen, with two weekly flights from Debrecen to Hurghada, Egypt, from the end of October.
The city of Hurghada, which is known for its fabulous coastal stretches, will be available from Debrecen at an affordable price and operate on Thursdays and Sundays during the winter season. The first flight to Hurghada will take off on 29th of October 2023.
Tickets for the new route are now available on Wizz Air’s website and mobile app, according to the airline and Debrecen International Airport Kft.
The resort city is located on the Red Sea coast, 450 km from the Egyptian capital Cairo.
Hurghada is a favourite destination for experienced and novice divers, famous for its dazzling coral reefs and the surrounding breathtaking islands, which are accessible by boat for tourists.
“Hurghada is a returning new flight at Debrecen International Airport, which was last available in 2019 and was very popular. We are delighted that Wizz Air is now offering a new holiday flight from Debrecen, which will be available in the winter schedule and will take travellers to the Red Sea coast”, Tamás Király, Managing Director of Debrecen International Airport Kft., said.
Wizz Air currently operates three seasonal summer flights from Debrecen to Antalya in Turkey, Corfu in Greece and Burgas in Bulgaria until the autumn, as well as flights to Tel Aviv, Larnaca in Cyprus, London and Eindhoven from Debrecen and Munich with Lufthansa.
There are also charter flights from Debrecen to Antalya in Turkey and the island of Crete in Greece, which started in June.
The airport expects to welcome and serve 350,000 passengers this year.
